Cosmetology

Introduction:

From the fast-paced area of South Beach to the most luxurious spa-cosmetology prepares the student for all aspects of the industry. Students will encounter the science, theory, and practical-art applications of hair shaping and design, as well as chemical services which include permanent waving, coloring, and hair relaxing. Students will also receive instruction in the latest facial and nail-care design and techniques. Hair removal and hair extensions are also part of the curriculum. Entrepreneurial skills are an integral part of this course.

Once licensed, the cosmetologist may enter, but is not limited to, any of the following areas of the beauty industry:

The average wage for this career in Florida is $14.63 hourly or $30,440 annually.

Completion Requirements: 

The entire program is 1200 hours. Students can earn a certificate at the completion of the following Occupational Completion Points (OCPs):
