Introduction:

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) become educated to provide health services such as taking blood pressure, pulse, respiration, applying dressings, helping patients with bathing and personal hygiene, and administering medications. Training in this program is provided by licensed medical personnel. A vocational certificate is issued upon successfully completing this 1,350-hour program.

Employment Opportunities:

LPNs will be prepared to be employed in a wide array of healthcare professions. They may work in hospitals, nursing homes, doctor’s offices, private homes, health departments, or other settings such as schools and residential care facilities. Training as LPNs provides a foundation to pursue many health-related career paths including a registered nurse.
